Job summary

Sunshine Coast Council is seeking an experienced Event Officer for Community Events. You will plan, coordinate and deliver a diverse civic events program, engaging stakeholders and managing budgets, schedules and documentation.

In this role, you will work with elected representatives, sponsors and partners to ensure high-quality, compliant events that align with Council's vision for a thriving region. A strong background in event administration and data reporting is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating civic or community events within local government is preferred.
• Advanced administration, financial management and reporting skills are required.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and project coordination abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planning and delivery of civic and community events in line with Council requirements.
• Oversee event operations, logistics, stakeholder engagement and onsite delivery.
• Develop and maintain event administration systems with accurate records and data integrity.
• Manage event budgets, purchase orders, invoicing and financial tracking.
• Prepare event documentation, schedules, run sheets and post-event reports.
• Collect and analyse event data, feedback and evaluation measures.
• Utilise Smartsheet and other digital platforms for stakeholder engagement, registrations and reporting.
• Develop and manage databases, spreadsheets and reporting tools for event planning and performance measurement.
• Liaise with dignitaries, elected representatives, government agencies and partners.
• Support the delivery of multiple events concurrently.
