Job summary

Federal Group's Wrest Point in Hobart is hiring a casual Commis Chef to join our culinary team, working across our dining outlets and the iconic Point Revolving Restaurant. You will use Tasmania's finest produce and learn from a diverse, skilled team while building your career in hospitality.

You will develop skills in a fast-paced kitchen, contribute to memorable dining experiences, and rotate across shifts including evenings and weekends, with access to staff meals, parking, and brand

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
• Strong understanding of quality produce and kitchen operations.
• Passion for creating memorable dining experiences for guests.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a high-performing team.
• Commercial Cookery Certificate III or higher.
• Full Australian working rights with rotating roaster availability including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• As a casual Commis Chef, you will prepare a range of dishes using Tasmania's finest produce and freshest local ingredients.
• Work alongside our diverse culinary team across dining outlets from upmarket bistro to Point Revolving Restaurant.

What you can expect in a day in this role:

As a casual Commis Chef, you will prepare a range of dishes using Tasmania's finest produce and freshest local ingredients while working alongside our diverse and skilled culinary team. You'll have the opportunity to develop your skills across a variety of dining outlets, from our upmarket bistro through to the iconic Point Revolving Restaurant, gaining exposure to different cuisines, techniques and service styles while building your career with one of Tasmania's leading hospitality groups.

What you will bring to the role:

• Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced commercial kitchen, ideally within a hotel, restaurant or large hospitality venue
• Strong understanding of quality produce, food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
• Passion for creating memorable dining experiences for guests
• Ability to work independently when required while contributing positively to a high-performing team
• Commercial Cookery Certificate III or higher
• Full Australian working rights with availability to work across a rotating roster, including weekends, evenings and public holidays
