Job summary

The Fullerton Hotel Sydney is hiring a Commis Chef for full-time work in Banquets and The Place Restaurant. You will join a fast-paced, luxury kitchen, supporting all-day dining and banquet services with guidance from senior chefs.

A strong culinary foundation and English communication are essential. You'll work a 7-day rotating roster, gain exposure to high-profile events, and contribute to menu development while maintaining top quality and hygiene standards in a premier Sydney hospitality

Qualifications

• Full working rights in Australia.
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or above.
• In-depth understanding of HACCP principles.
• Flexibility to work a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends, evenings and public holidays.
• Strong culinary skills across various cooking styles and techniques.
• Completed culinary qualifications and a genuine passion for food.
• Portfolio or photos of your work welcomed and encouraged.
• Strong communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes for all-day dining and banquets.
• Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation meet the highest standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation following health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with senior chefs to ensure efficient kitchen operations, especially during peak service times.
• Contribute to menu planning, daily specials, and new recipe development.
• Execute additional requests assigned by the Executive Chef and Director of Culinary.
