Job summary
The Fullerton Hotel Sydney is seeking a Commis Chef - Breakfast / Pastry to join our pastry team in the heart of Sydney. This full-time role supports the senior pastry chef in daily kitchen operations, focusing on high-quality breakfast pastries, desserts, and breads for The Place Restaurant and Banquets.
You will work early mornings (4am–12pm) on a 7-day rotating roster, bring pastry fundamentals to life, and contribute to a collaborative kitchen that delivers exceptional guest experiences in a
Qualifications
- Pastry fundamentals knowledge.
- La carte or buffet service experience and presentation flair.
- Completed culinary qualifications and a passion for food.
- Good work ethic and a can-do attitude.
- Understanding of HACCP principles.
Responsibilities
- Breakfast pastries and desserts preparation as part of pastry team.
- Assist in baking, presentation of pastries, cakes, breads.
- Prepare mise en place for pastry production.
- Maintain high quality, consistency, and presentation standards.
- Keep workstation clean and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory of pastry ingredients.
- Assist with tasks assigned by Executive Chef and Pastry Director.
