Gunners Barracks, operated by Grand Pacific Group in Mosman, seeks an Assistant Venue Manager to join our hospitality team. You will report to the Venue Manager and focus on settling in, then driving service excellence, staff culture, recruitment and development.

Responsibilities include running events and restaurant service, hands-on staff training, systems implementation, and maintaining guest relations to ensure smooth day-to-day operations with high customer service standards.

About the role

GunnersBarracks isexcited to welcome an second AssistantVenue Manager to join our team of hospitality professionals.

Reporting to the Venue Manager, this role will focus initially on getting settled in and learning the operations - then ideally focusing on ways to:

Build on existing methods and practises to always improve service excellence and operations

Focus on staff culture, recruitment and training

Focus on the development of junior staff members

Be an ideas person - how to drive the business, brand and revenue

Responsibilities include:

Running of events and restaurant service, this is an operational role.

'Hands On' management style.

Ability to effectivelytrain staff to a high standard

Assist with the establishment, implementation and maintenance of appropriate systems and procedures for the events where required.

Liaise with all managers to better understand operational needs and improve standards.

Maintain strong relations with guest and staff to ensuresuccessful day-to-day operations.

Responsible for ensuring all staff deliver a high level of customer service.

Responsible for responding accordingly to customer feedback where required.

Ensure the venue meets with the highest compliance standards set by the industry.

A willingness to learn as much as to teach
