Job summary

RACV City Club Melbourne CBD is seeking a dedicated first-year apprentice chef to join our professional kitchen team. You will learn hygienic and safe work practices, food handling, knife skills and methods of cookery under our skilled chefs.

This apprenticeship offers on-the-job training, support to complete a nationally recognised qualification, and a permanent full-time position of 38 hours per week with an apprenticeship wage.

Qualifications

• Full availability and flexibility to work various shifts a 7 day rotating, including evenings, weekends & public holidays.
• Passion and enthusiasm for cooking & developing your culinary skills.
• Reliability and commitment to completing a certificate 3 cookery qualification.
• Clear communication skills and work well in a team environment.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn, can follow direction, show attention to detail & take pride in work.
• Excellent grooming, hygiene and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Learn hygienic and safe work practices, food handling, knife skills and methods of cookery under experienced chefs.
• Gain valuable knowledge and experience throughout our kitchen through on-the-job training.
• Assist in daily kitchen duties and contribute to a positive team environment.
