Job summary

Aboriginal Teacher at Long Bay Correctional Centre and Junee Correctional Centre is an ongoing, full-time role within Corrective Services NSW. The role focuses on delivering Language Literacy Numeracy and Digital Literacy (LLND) within General Education and Training programs.

You will plan, deliver, and evaluate accredited courses, support Aboriginal offenders with culturally appropriate practices, and contribute to offender education pathways through regular reporting and collaboration with

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Education or equivalent with eligible teaching credentials.
• Graduate Diploma or higher in Education plus a non-education qualification relevant to teaching.
• Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110/TAE40116/TAE40122 or successor)

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver courses meeting accredited course and training package requirements.
• Plan, develop, deliver and evaluate programs to reduce re-offending and improve community safety.
• Contribute LLND (Language Literacy Numeracy and Digital Literacy) in General Education and Training programs.
• Build relationships with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders to deliver programs.
• Maintain LLND classes and manage learners in the Offender Information Management System (OIMS).
• Enrol and pre-enrol learners, conduct contextualised classes and assessments.
• Prepare teaching resources and participate in course validation and moderation processes.
• Maintain administrative duties: learner participation, progress and achievement records.
• Provide reports on learner progress for offender education and employment pathways.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Education
