Job summary

An exciting opportunity exists to join Corrective Services NSW as an Aboriginal Teacher at Long Bay Correctional Centre and Junee Correctional Centre. Plan, develop, deliver and evaluate courses meeting accredited requirements to achieve high program delivery in line with CSNSW standards, contributing to reduced re-offending.

You will support LLND in General Education and Training programs delivered by the internal provider AEVTI, with a focus on improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education from a recognised university.
• Graduate Diploma (or higher) in Education in a discipline other than education with suitable teaching subjects.
• Current NSW Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110/16/22 or successor).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders to deliver programs.
• Apply culturally appropriate practices when working with Aboriginal offenders and facilitate access to supports.
• Build LLND classes and manage learners using the Offender Information Management System (OIMS).
• Enrol learners into appropriate LLND educational programs following established processes.
• Conduct classes and assessments contextualised to learner needs and aligned with assessment rules.
