Job summary

Petstock Smithfield is seeking an Assistant Store Manager (2IC) to support the Store Manager in leading a passionate team and delivering world-class customer service. This full-time role runs Tuesday to Saturday (40 hours) and focuses on coaching, stock management, and maintaining VM standards across the store.

The successful candidate will drive sales, lead a high-performing team, and foster a positive, safety-conscious culture while supporting local marketing initiatives and a strong in-store

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar store leadership role.
• Demonstrated drive to achieve and exceed sales targets.
• Strong leadership with the ability to motivate and build a high-performing teams.
• Ability to prioritise and manage conflicting priorities, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
• Ability to drive safe Work, Health & Safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the front by mentoring and inspiring your team daily.
• Support the Store Manager in coaching the team to develop knowledge and skills.
• Lead from the front by delivering an exceptional customer experience.
• Create a safety-mindset and foster a culture of safety within the team.
• Assist in stock management and ensure stock integrity processes are followed.
• Oversee visual merchandising (VM) of stock displays to VM standards.
• Recruit, onboard, and induct high-calibre new team members.
• Contribute to local marketing opportunities and sponsorships.
