Job summary

Alpega is seeking an HR Operations Specialist in Vienna for a fixed-term maternity leave replacement. You will manage HR operations and payroll inputs across several European countries, ensuring data quality and compliance while collaborating with Finance and external payroll partners.

The role requires 2–4 years in payroll or HR Operations, fluency in German and English (C1), experience with HRIS, and a detail-oriented, service-driven mindset.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in payroll or HR Operations
• Working knowledge of payroll processes and local compliance basics
• Experience working with external payroll providers
• Business-fluent German and English at C1 level
• Experience working with an HRIS and maintaining employee data
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines
• Confidentiality handling of employee information
• Strong communication and service-oriented approach
• Proactive problem solving in operations

Responsibilities

• Manage HR Operations across the employee lifecycle including onboarding, changes, exits and administrative updates
• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities and ensure timely completion
• Maintain accurate employee records and documentation
• Respond to employee and manager questions regarding HR processes
• Prepare and validate monthly payroll inputs for multiple European countries
• Liaise with local payroll providers and resolve queries
• Support payroll controls, reconciliations and audits
• Identify opportunities to simplify and automate transactional HR processes
• Support automation projects through testing and rollout
• Harmonise ways of working across country teams
