AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own and improve a Snowflake-based data platform in a regulated healthcare environment. You will design data models, optimize warehouses, and collaborate with Cloud/DevOps, Analytics, and Security teams.

This role requires 5+ years in data engineering, strong SQL and Python, experience with Fivetran/HVR, Argo Workflows on Kubernetes, and excellent English communication. Remote-friendly, Pacific Time overlap.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Platform Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake including data-layer design, performance and troubleshooting.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with dbt for transformation, testing, lineage, and deployment.
• Experience operating managed ingestion tools such as Fivetran or HVR and supporting data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services (S3, event-driven ingestion).
• Experience with Argo Workflows on Kubernetes and related orchestration tools.
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering and automation.
• Strong data modeling, pipeline dependencies, schema evolution, backfills, data quality.
• Observability, logging, alerting, incident-management in production data platforms.
• Ability to lead incident resolution, root-cause analysis, preventive improvements.
• Ability to make well-reasoned technical decisions and guide platform improvements.
• Experience mentoring engineers and collaborating with Cloud/DevOps, Analytics, Security, Governance, and stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal English communication; ability to work with client stakeholders.
• Full availability to work 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Pacific Time and participate in on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical ownership for the Data Platform during LatAm coverage window.
• Operate and improve Snowflake production and non-production environments and optimize performance.
• Administer data access with least-privilege controls and audit-ready practices.
• Manage data ingestion across Fivetran, HVR, and custom pipelines.
• Design, build, and maintain pipelines and dbt models across RAW, CURATED, and CONSUMPTION layers with testing and CI/CD.
• Support AWS S3 data-lake operations and downstream Snowflake workloads.
• Coordinate with Cloud/DevOps for Argo Workflows and Kubernetes-hosted workloads.
• Define and improve data quality and observability standards.
• Expand end-to-end monitoring and lineage with tooling and alerting.
• Lead or support major data incidents and post-incident reviews.
• Support Tableau Cloud operations where needed and data platform investigations.
• Identify standardization, automation, reliability, performance, and cost improvements.
• Execute work through incident, request, access, change, and release processes.
• Create runbooks, procedures, and knowledge-transfer materials.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and ensure effective handoffs across the team.
• Participate in Data Platform on-call rotation.
