Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to operate and improve a Snowflake-based data platform in a regulated healthcare environment. You will own data ingestion, modeling, and governance across RAW, CURATED, and CONSUMPTION layers, while leading incident resolution and collaborating with Cloud/DevOps, Analytics, Security, and business stakeholders.

The role requires 5+ years in data engineering, advanced SQL, dbt expertise, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

5+ years in Data Engineering or Data Platform Engineering.
Snowflake data-layer design, performance, and troubleshooting.
Advanced SQL and dbt for transformation and testing.
Experience with Fivetran or HVR and custom data-ingestion pipelines.
Hands-on AWS data services, especially S3 and ingestion patterns.
Experience with Argo Workflows on Kubernetes or similar orchestration.
Python or equivalent language for data tooling.
Strong data modeling, lineage, and data quality practices.
Experience with observability, logging, alerting, and incident management.
Ability to lead complex incident resolution and preventive improvements.
Ability to make well-reasoned technical decisions and guide platform improvements.
Mentor engineers and collaborate with Cloud/DevOps, Analytics, Security, Governance, and stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal English communication with client stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Operate and improve Snowflake production and non-production environments.
Manage data access with least-privilege and audit-ready controls.
Oversee ingestion across Fivetran, HVR, and custom pipelines with scheduling and schema changes.
Design and maintain pipelines and dbt models across RAW, CURATED, CONSUMPTION layers.
Support S3 data-lake operations and downstream Snowflake workloads.
Coordinate with Cloud/DevOps for Argo Workflows and Kubernetes workloads.
Define data quality and observability standards and checks.
Enhance end-to-end monitoring and lineage with tools like dbt and Splunk.
Lead data incidents and post-incident reviews with preventive actions.
Support Tableau Cloud when upstream data or access issues arise.
Standardize, automate, and improve reliability and cost efficiency.
Follow incident, request, access, change, and release processes.
Create runbooks, operating procedures, and knowledge transfer materials.
Mentor mid-level engineers and ensure strong team handoffs.
Participate in Data Platform on-call rotation for critical incidents.
