AgileEngine in Argentina is seeking a Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable systems using Java and Kotlin with Spring Boot, GraphQL, MongoDB Atlas, and Aurora MySQL on AWS. This role involves collaboration with product managers, data scientists, and designers to deliver high-performance software across a product-led engineering team.

You will contribute to observability, cost-savings, and compliance work, participate in code reviews, and ensure high-quality engineering

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin.
• Experience with MongoDB Atlas NoSQL.
• Experience with Aurora MySQL on AWS.
• Experience building cloud-native distributed systems on AWS.
• Experience with Spring Boot.
• API development with GraphQL (Netflix DGS).
• Ability to design scalable, high-performance systems.

Responsibilities

• Take on lower-priority engineering work such as compliance and maintenance, cost-savings, observability, and tooling improvements.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, performant, and reliable software systems.
• Contribute to system architecture and validate solutions with data and experiments.
• Participate in code reviews and design reviews to uphold engineering standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners including software engineers, product managers, data scientists, and designers.
• Partner with a Product Manager and fellow engineers to clarify requirements and perform mid-level design work, focusing on coding, testing, and documentation.
