AgileEngine in Argentina is seeking a Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable systems using Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, and AWS on a modern stack (GraphQL, MongoDB, Aurora MySQL). You will collaborate with product, design, and data teams to deliver high-performance services and observability capabilities.

The role requires strong English and Spanish communication, hands-on experience with microservices, and a focus on cost-savings and compliance tooling.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend-focused software development.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin.
• Experience with MongoDB Atlas and relational databases (Aurora MySQL).
• Experience building cloud-native systems on AWS.
• Spring Boot and GraphQL API experience.
• Experience with microservices architecture.
• Strong English and Spanish communication skills.
• Familiarity with Terraform, Kafka or SQS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take on lower-priority engineering work including compliance and maintenance, cost-savings, observability.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, performant software systems.
• Contribute to system architecture and design with data-driven validation.
• Participate in code reviews and design reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners including engineers, product managers, data scientists, and designers.
• Work with Product Manager and engineers to clarify requirements and perform mid-level design work.
