Job summary

AgileEngine in Buenos Aires is seeking a Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable systems for a product-led engineering team. You’ll work in Java and/or Kotlin with Spring Boot, GraphQL, MongoDB Atlas, and Aurora MySQL on AWS, delivering operational tooling and reliable architectures.

Collaborate with cross-functional partners, participate in code reviews, and help with observability, cost-savings, and compliance work while advancing a modern cloud-native stack.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend-focused software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin.
• Proficiency in MongoDB Atlas (NoSQL).
• Proficiency in Aurora MySQL on AWS.
• Experience building cloud-native distributed systems on AWS.
• Experience with Spring Boot.
• API development with GraphQL (Netflix DGS).
• Experience building and operating large-scale systems on a major cloud platform.
• Upper-intermediate English level.

Responsibilities

• Take on lower-priority engineering work including compliance, maintenance, cost-savings, observability, and tool development.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, performant, and reliable software systems.
• Contribute to system architecture and design, validating solutions with data and experimentation.
• Participate in code reviews and design reviews to uphold engineering standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners including engineers, product managers, data scientists, and designers.
• Partner with a Product Manager and fellow engineers to clarify requirements and focus on coding, testing and documentation.
