Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join the Data Platform team. This remote role focuses on reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines and analytics capabilities on AWS.

You will build cloud infrastructure, CI/CD tooling, and data workflows to empower data engineers. You will design and operate data pipelines with AWS Glue, Athena, and S3, and contribute to observability, security, and scale.

Formación

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE, with at least 2 years in data engineering.
• Deep expertise with AWS core services: S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Secrets Manager, and CloudFormation/CDK.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services: Glue, Athena, and S3 lifecycle management.
• Proficiency with IaC tools Terraform and/or AWS CDK for production cloud environments.
• Strong CI/CD experience: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent.
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration (ECS, EKS, Kubernetes).
• Proven ability to design and operate observability systems (metrics, logging, tracing, alerting).
• Strong communication skills to translate operational concerns into clear engineering trade-offs.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AWS Glue ETL jobs and related data infra.
• Build and manage AWS infrastructure using IaC (Terraform/CDK) across S3, IAM, VPC, Glue, Athena.
• Own observability stack: metrics, logs, alerts to ensure SLAs and fast incident response.
• Develop DataOps tooling and templates for production-grade pipelines.
• Manage container and compute infra (Docker, ECS/EKS, Lambda) for data ingestion services.
• Design and operate workflow orchestration (MWAA/Airflow, Step Functions) with reliability hardening.
• Build Glue ETL jobs (PySpark) for large-scale data ingestion/transformation.
• Drive security best practices: Secrets Manager, least-privilege IAM, networking, compliance.
• Collaborate with data teams to translate requirements into scalable infra solutions.
• Lead incident response and post-mortems; mentor junior engineers.
