Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team. This hybrid role blends platform engineering and data infrastructure, owning reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines and analytics capabilities.

You will build and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS-first), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tooling to accelerate production-grade data products while contributing to data pipelines using AWS Glue, Athena, and S3.

Qualifications

5+ years in DevOps or platform engineering with data engineering exposure.
Expertise with AWS core services: S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS.
Proficiency with IaC tools: Terraform and/or AWS CDK.
Strong CI/CD experience and container orchestration.

Responsibilities

Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AWS Glue ETL jobs, Athena views, and related data infrastructure.
Build and manage AWS infrastructure using IaC (Terraform / CDK).
Own observability stack for data pipelines with metrics, logs, and alerts.
Develop DataOps self-service tooling, pipeline templates, and libraries.
Manage Docker and container orchestration for data ingestion microservices.
Operate workflow orchestration environments (MWAA / Airflow / Step Functions).
Build AWS Glue ETL jobs with PySpark for large-scale data ingestion and transformation.
Drive security practices across the data platform (secrets, IAM, network).
Mentor junior engineers, conduct reviews, contribute to architecture decisions.
