Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join the Data Platform team. This remote/hybrid role focuses on reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines and analytics.

You will build and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS-first), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tooling to empower data teams to ship high-quality data products efficiently. You will design and operate data pipelines using AWS Glue, Athena, and S3, maintaining an operational mindset and strong focus on

Formación

• 5+ years in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE with 2+ years in data engineering.
• Deep expertise with AWS core services: S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Secrets Manager, CloudFormation/CDK.
• Hands-on with AWS data services: Glue, Athena, S3 lifecycle and security.
• Proficient in Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform / AWS CDK).
• Strong CI/CD experience across GitHub Actions, Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration (ECS/EKS/Kubernetes).
• Designing observability systems (metrics, logging, tracing) for data/platform services.
• Excellent communication, translating ops concerns to engineering trade-offs.

Responsabilidades

• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AWS Glue ETL jobs and Athena views.
• Build and manage AWS infrastructure via IaC (Terraform / CDK).
• Own observability stack: metrics, logs, alerts for data pipelines.
• Develop DataOps self-service tooling and shared libraries.
• Manage container infra (Docker; ECS/EKS; Lambda).
• Operate workflow orchestration (MWAA / Airflow / Step Functions).
• Build AWS Glue ETL jobs for large-scale data ingestion on S3 data lake.
• Enforce security: Secrets Manager, least-privilege IAM, network segmentation.
• Lead incident response and post-mortems for data platform outages.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in design reviews.
