Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team. This hybrid role focuses on reliability, automation, and delivering data pipelines and analytics capabilities on AWS.

You’ll design and operate data infrastructure, CI/CD, and tooling that empower data engineers to ship high-quality data products safely and quickly. You’ll own the observability stack, implement secure, scalable workflows with Glue, Athena, and S3, and mentor engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or site reliability with data engineering exposure.
• Deep expertise with AWS core services: S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Secrets Manager, CDK/CFN.
• Proficiency with IaC tools - Terraform and/or AWS CDK for production clouds.
• Strong CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent.
• Experience with container technologies (Docker) and orchestration (ECS/EKS/Kubernetes).

Responsabilités

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and promotion of AWS Glue ETL jobs and Athena views.
• Build and manage AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform and/or CDK.
• Own the observability stack for data pipelines with metrics, logs, and alerts.
• Develop DataOps tooling and reusable pipeline templates for production-grade data workflows.
• Manage container and compute infrastructure (Docker, ECS/EKS, Lambda) for data ingestion services.
• Design and operate workflow orchestration environments (MWAA/Airflow, Step Functions).
• Build and maintain Glue ETL jobs (PySpark) for large-scale data ingestion and transformation.
• Implement security best practices across the data platform (Secrets Manager, IAM, network controls).
• Collaborate with data teams to translate requirements into scalable infra solutions.
• Lead on-call incident response and post-mortem improvements.
