Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team in a hybrid role. You will own the reliability, automation, and delivery of systems powering data pipelines and analytics, building cloud infrastructure on AWS, CI/CD tooling, and data workflows.

You will design and operate data pipelines with Glue, Athena, and S3, contributing to the observability, security, and performance of the platform, while mentoring engineers and leading incident response when needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering, with data engineering exposure.
• Deep expertise with AWS core services (S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS).
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform and/or AWS CDK).
• Strong CI/CD experience and container orchestration knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AWS Glue ETL jobs and data infra.
• Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS using IaC (Terraform / CDK).
• Own observability stack with metrics, logs, and alerts for data pipelines.
• Mentor junior engineers on DevOps and data engineering practices.
