AgileEngine is seeking a Database Administrator to manage high-availability production databases, secure access, and tune performance. This hands-on DBA role focuses on database administration, reliability, and security—not Data Engineering.

You will work with engineers on system design, disaster recovery planning, and incident response in a fast-paced environment. 3–4 years of experience with SQL Server/Aurora PostgreSQL, AWS, IaC, Kafka, and scripting is ideal.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of hands-on DBA experience.
• Experience with SQL Server and Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Experience with AWS, particularly RDS/Aurora.
• PowerShell or Python scripting experience.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Experience with Kafka administration and troubleshooting.
• Strong performance analysis and tuning skills.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams under tight deadlines.
• Experience administering high-availability production systems.
• Experience performing disaster recoveries.
• Upper-intermediate English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high availability of production database systems and keep them performing well.
• Plan for and carry out disaster recovery with zero data loss.
• Secure databases, manage access control and security protocols.
• Analyze and tune database performance and diagnose issues.
• Collaborate with engineers on design, performance tuning, and support.
• Operate hands-on in a highly technical environment.
• Stay composed under pressure in stressful situations.
