Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Database Administrator to manage, secure, and tune high-availability production databases in collaboration with engineering teams. This hands-on role focuses on database administration, performance, security, and reliability rather than data engineering.

Requirements include 3–4 years of hands-on DBA experience, MS SQL Server and Aurora PostgreSQL, AWS RDS/Aurora, PowerShell or Python, Terraform, Kafka, and strong English. Remote/office options available under flextime.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years hands-on DBA experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft SQL Server and Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Experience with AWS RDS and Aurora.
• Programming experience with PowerShell or Python.
• Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Experience with Kafka (Confluent Kafka).
• Strong performance tuning and high-availability disaster recovery.
• Collaborates with engineering teams under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high availability of production databases and keep performance optimal.
• Plan and execute disaster recovery with zero data loss.
• Ensure security and access control of databases.
• Analyze and tune database performance and diagnose issues.
• Collaborate with engineers on design, tuning and support.
• Hands-on administration in a highly technical data environment.
• Stay composed in stressful situations.
