AgileEngine is seeking a Database Administrator to manage, secure, and tune high-availability production databases, working closely with engineering teams. This hands-on DBA role focuses on database administration, performance, security, and reliability—not Data Engineering.

The role requires 3–4 years of hands-on DBA experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Aurora PostgreSQL, AWS RDS/Aurora, PowerShell or Python, Terraform, Confluent Kafka, and upper-intermediate English.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of hands-on DBA experience.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Experience with AWS, particularly RDS and Aurora.
• PowerShell or Python scripting.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform.
• Kafka (Confluent Kafka) administration and troubleshooting.
• Extensive experience with performance analysis and tuning.
• Experience working with engineering teams and delivering on deadlines.
• Experience administering high‑function, high‑availability production systems.
• Experience performing disaster recoveries.
• Upper‑intermediate English level.

Responsabilités

• Maintain high availability of production database systems and keep them performing well.
• Plan for and carry out disaster recovery, ensuring zero data loss in case of disaster.
• Keep database systems secure, including access control, and adhere to security protocols.
• Analyze and tune database performance, and diagnose difficult performance issues.
• Work closely with engineers on system design, performance tuning and technical support.
• Operate hands-on in an extremely technical environment, administering the data systems that support the website.
• Stay composed under pressure and navigate extremely stressful situations.
