Job summary

AgileEngine seeks a Senior Data Engineer to own and improve a Snowflake-based data platform in a regulated healthcare environment. You will operate production and non-production environments, optimize pipelines, and lead incident reviews.

You will collaborate with Cloud/DevOps, Analytics, Security, and stakeholders, mentoring engineers and ensuring data quality, governance, and observability across RAW, CURATED, and CONSUMPTION layers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering or Data Platform Engineering.
• Advanced SQL and Python for data engineering and automation.
• Hands-on Snowflake development, data-layer design, and production troubleshooting.
• Experience with dbt for transformation, testing, lineage, and deployment.
• Experience with Fivetran or HVR and custom ingestion pipelines.
• AWS data services experience, especially S3 and ingestion patterns.
• Orchestration with Argo Workflows on Kubernetes for data workloads.
• Data modeling, schema evolution, backfills, data quality, and validation.
• Observability, logging, alerting, and incident management for production data platforms.
• Root-cause analysis and preventive action ownership for incidents.
• Strong English communication; able to work with client stakeholders.
• Willingness to work 9:00 AM–6:00 PM Pacific Time and participate in on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical ownership for the Data Platform service tower during LatAm hours, including day-to-day operations and escalation.
• Operate and optimize Snowflake production and non-production environments, including sizing and performance monitoring.
• Manage data access with least-privilege controls and audit-ready practices.
• Oversee data ingestion across Fivetran, HVR, and custom pipelines, including scheduling and schema-change coordination.
• Design, build, and maintain pipelines and dbt models across RAW, CURATED, and CONSUMPTION layers with testing and lineage.
• Support S3 data-lake operations and downstream Snowflake workloads with proper retention and access controls.
• Collaborate with Cloud/DevOps on Argo Workflows and Kubernetes-hosted data workloads; assist in deployment and recovery.
• Lead or participate in major data incidents, root-cause analyses, and post-incident reviews.
