Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to operate and improve a Snowflake-based enterprise data platform in a regulated healthcare environment. You will own day-to-day operations, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive incident response while coordinating with Cloud/DevOps, Analytics, Security, Governance, and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include managing Snowflake production, data ingestion pipelines, and dbt models, ensuring data quality and observability, and mentoring engineers

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering or Data Platform Engineering.
• Snowflake: data-layer design, warehouse performance, access patterns, and troubleshooting.
• Advanced SQL and strong experience with dbt for transformation, testing, lineage, and controlled deployment.
• Experience operating managed ingestion tools such as Fivetran or HVR and supporting custom ingestion pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services, particularly S3 and ingestion patterns.
• Experience with Argo Workflows on Kubernetes or comparable workflow orchestration.
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering, automation, and tooling.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, schema evolution, backfills, data validation, and data quality.
• Observability, logging, alerting, and incident-management practices for production data platforms.
• Ability to lead incident resolution, perform root-cause analysis, and drive preventive improvements.
• Ability to make technical decisions, estimate work, and guide platform improvements.
• Experience mentoring engineers and collaborating with Cloud/DevOps, Analytics, Security, Governance, and stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal English communication; ability to work with client stakeholders and on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical ownership for the Data Platform service tower during LatAm coverage window.
• Operate and improve Snowflake production and non-production environments, including configuration and monitoring.
• Administer data access with least-privilege controls and audit-ready practices.
• Operate and improve data ingestion across Fivetran, HVR, and custom pipelines.
• Design and maintain pipelines and dbt models across RAW, CURATED, and CONSUMPTION layers with testing and CI/CD.
• Support AWS S3 data-lake operations and downstream Snowflake workloads.
• Support Argo Workflows and Kubernetes-hosted data workloads with Cloud/DevOps coordination.
• Define and improve data quality and observability standards.
• Expand monitoring and lineage using SYNQ, dbt, Snowflake audit data, Splunk, and alerting stacks.
• Lead or support major data incidents and post-incident reviews.
• Support Tableau Cloud operations where data upstream requires investigation.
• Identify standardization and automation opportunities across data platforms.
• Execute work through incident, request, access, change, and release processes.
• Create runbooks and knowledge-transfer materials.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and ensure effective handoffs across the team.
• Participate in Data Platform on-call rotation.
