Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to operate and improve a Snowflake-based data platform in a regulated healthcare environment. You will lead data ingestion, model robust data pipelines with dbt, and ensure data quality and observability across RAW, CURATED, and CONSUMPTION layers.

The role involves on-call rotations and collaboration with Cloud/DevOps, Analytics, Security, and governance teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering or Data Platform Engineering.
• Advanced Snowflake experience: data-layer design, performance, and production troubleshooting.
• Advanced SQL and dbt for transformation, testing, lineage, and deployment.
• Experience with Fivetran or HVR and ingestion pipelines.
• AWS data services experience, especially S3 and event/file ingestion.
• Experience with Argo Workflows on Kubernetes or similar.
• Python or equivalent language for data eng and automation.
• Strong data modeling, dependencies, and data quality knowledge.
• Observability, logging, alerting, and incident-management practices.
• Leadership in incident resolution and preventive improvements.
• Ability to estimate work and guide platform improvements.
• Mentoring engineers and collaborating with Cloud/DevOps, Analytics, Security, Governance.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical ownership for the Data Platform during LatAm coverage window.
• Operate and improve Snowflake production/non-production environments and ingestion pipelines.
• Administer data access with least-privilege and audit readiness.
• Coordinate ingestion across Fivetran/HVR and custom pipelines.
• Design and maintain pipelines and dbt models across RAW, CURATED, CONSUMPTION layers with CI/CD.
• Support AWS S3 data-lake operations and downstream Snowflake workloads.
• Coordinate Argo Workflows and Kubernetes-hosted workloads with Cloud/DevOps.
• Define and improve data quality and observability standards.
• Expand monitoring and lineage using SYNQ, dbt, Snowflake, Splunk; tie alerts to runbooks.
• Lead major data incidents and post-incident reviews with preventive actions.
• Support Tableau Cloud operations when needed; standardize and automate improvements.
• Create runbooks, procedures, and knowledge-transfer materials.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and ensure effective handoffs.
