Lever, Inc. is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Python. You will own features across their lifecycle and work with AI-assisted development workflows.

You will join a fast-moving team, contributing to distributed systems, databases, queues, and data pipelines, while driving reliability, performance, and ownership in a startup environment. This role is 100% remote in LATAM.

Formación

• 8+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• 5+ years of professional Python experience, building production-grade backends.
• Strong Java experience.
• Hands-on AI/LLM-based development experience.
• Experience with distributed systems, data pipelines, and asynchronous processing.
• Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Python.
• Develop distributed systems with databases, APIs, message queues, and data pipelines.
• Own features from design to monitoring and optimization.
• Build production-ready systems with reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into tech solutions.
• Improve system performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality.
• Participate in architectural discussions and major technical decisions as the company scales.
• Continuously improve development processes, tooling, and standards.
