Fullstack Labs, Inc. is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Python. You will own features through their lifecycle, work on distributed systems, and collaborate with a highly technical team.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with Python and Java, hands-on AI/LLM development, and a strong ownership mindset to thrive in a startup or fast-paced environment. Remote work from LATAM is available.

Formación

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering or backend development.
• 5+ professional experience with Python, building and maintaining production-grade backend systems.
• Strong experience with Java.
• Hands-on experience with AI/LLM-based application development (AI agents, agentic systems, or LLM-powered applications)
• Experience building AI-driven features, LLM integrations, or agentic workflows in production environments is highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, scalable architectures, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience working with databases, message queues, and data processing pipelines
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Proven experience building, maintaining, optimizing, and improving products after launch.
• Strong ownership mindset, autonomy, and ability to thrive in startup or fast-paced environments.
• Advanced English level

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Python.
• Develop distributed systems involving databases, APIs, message queues, and data processing pipelines.
• Take full ownership of features and services throughout their lifecycle, from design and implementation to monitoring and optimization.
• Build production-ready systems with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Improve system performance, scalability, and operational efficiency across the platform.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while ensuring code quality and engineering best practices.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to key technical decisions as the company scales.
• Continuously improve development processes, tooling, and engineering standards.
