Southbay is seeking a Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable systems for a Product-led engineering team. The role involves Java and/or Kotlin with Spring Boot, GraphQL, MongoDB, and Aurora MySQL on AWS, covering operational tooling and system architecture.

Responsibilities include taking on lower-priority engineering work—compliance, cost-savings, observability, and tooling—and designing robust, scalable software systems.

Formación

• 3+ years of backend-focused software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin.
• Proficiency with MongoDB (Atlas).
• Proficiency with Aurora MySQL on AWS.
• Experience building cloud-native distributed systems on AWS.
• Experience with Spring Boot.
• API development with GraphQL (Netflix DGS).
• Experience building and operating large-scale, high-performance systems on a major cloud platform.

Responsabilidades

• Take on lower-priority engineering work the team lacks bandwidth for, including compliance and engineering maintenance, cost-savings, observability, experiment clean-up, and operational tool development.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, performant, and reliable software systems.
