AgileEngine is seeking a Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable systems for a product-led engineering team. This role uses Java and/or Kotlin with Spring Boot, GraphQL, MongoDB Atlas, and Aurora MySQL on AWS.

You will contribute to system architecture, validate solutions with data and experimentation, participate in code reviews, and collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, data scientists, and designers.

Flextime with remote and office options.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend-focused software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin.
• Experience with MongoDB Atlas and Aurora MySQL on AWS.
• Experience with Spring Boot and GraphQL (Netflix DGS).
• Experience building cloud-native distributed systems on AWS.

Responsabilités

• Take on lower-priority engineering work the team lacks bandwidth for, including compliance and engineering maintenance, cost-savings, observability, experiment clean-up, and operational tool development.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, performant, and reliable software systems.
• Contribute to system architecture and technical design, validating solutions through data and experimentation where appropriate.
• Participate in code reviews and design reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, including software engineers, product managers, data scientists, and designers.
• Partner with a Product Manager and fellow engineers to clarify requirements and perform mid-level design work, focusing primarily on coding, testing, and documentation.
