This person works in Java and/or Kotlin with Spring Boot, GraphQL, MongoDB, and Aurora MySQL on AWS, covering everything from operational tooling to system architecture.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend-focused software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin.
• MongoDB Atlas proficiency.
• Aurora MySQL on AWS proficiency.
• AWS-based distributed systems experience.
• Spring Boot framework experience.
• GraphQL (Netflix DGS) experience.
• Experience building scalable, high-performance systems on a major cloud platform.
• Upper-intermediate English level.

Responsibilities

• Take on lower-priority engineering work, including maintenance, observability, cost-savings, and tooling.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, performant software systems.
• Contribute to architecture and design, validating solutions with data and experimentation.
• Participate in code and design reviews to uphold standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, data scientists, and designers.
• Clarify requirements with Product Manager and fellow engineers; focus on coding, testing, and documentation.
