Job summary

Bayer is seeking a Research and Impact Acceleration Lead to drive speed of learning, evidence quality, and iteration in the early breeding pipeline. You will define strategy, standards, and partnerships to turn insights into faster product delivery for growers and customers worldwide.

You will shape technology agendas, lead adoption across crops and regions, and measure impact across cycle time, genetic gain, and cost, while partnering with universities and global teams.

Qualifications

• PhD degree or MS degree in Plant or Animal Breeding, Quantitative or Statistical Genetics, Data Science, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of advanced breeding technologies, analytics/IT, genomics, and/or quantitative genetics with a proven track record of translating research into applied pipelines
• Strong ability to collaborate and build cross-functional partnerships across regions and functions
• Ability to embrace and role-model VACC leadership attributes per Bayer Values within the Capability Center and across Bayer Crop Science

Responsibilities

• Define the vision and multi-year strategy for research acceleration across the early breeding pipeline.
• Set standards for hypothesis-driven design and decision-ready evidence to enable rapid iteration.
• Shape enabling-technology agenda across accelerated breeding, genomics, phenotyping, and predictive analytics.
• Lead adoption strategies embedding new practices across crops and regions at scale.
• Own the impact narrative and metrics for acceleration across cycle time, genetic gain, cost, and adoption.
• Provide technical and strategic knowledge to the Capability Center and contribute to global Breeding and R&D focus areas.
• Engage with universities to coach talent and position Bayer as a strategic talent destination of choice.
• Serve in L3 leadership assemblies, aligning research acceleration with downstream product and supply decisions.
• Maintain strong focus on HS&E, Compliance, DEI, and Human Rights across the Capability Hub.
