Job summary

Political Asylum Lawyers is seeking an Accounting & Finance Manager (Hands-on) to lead the firm’s financial operations, accounting systems, billing, and cash flow forecasting. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with leadership to drive profitability and compliance.

The position is fully remote (open to candidates in Argentina) with a competitive USD salary and opportunities to shape finance strategy in a mission-driven firm focused on asylum

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services.
• Strong understanding of general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, A/R, A/P, payroll, and month-end close.
• Experience managing or reviewing trust/IOLTA accounting and reconciliations.
• Experience with billing systems, client payment plans, collections, and accounts receivable management.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day financial operations and document procedures.
• Ensure accurate accounting, billing, A/R, A/P, payroll, trust accounting, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and key reports on time.
• Manage annual budgets and forecasts; provide variance analyses to leadership.
• Oversee billing, collections, and client invoicing; monitor aging and disputes.
• Maintain trust accounting compliance and strong internal controls.
• Support audits, tax preparation, and external reviews.
• Collaborate with owners/CFO on pricing, cash flow, and strategic planning.
