Job summary

Political Asylum Lawyers, a Houston-based immigration law firm, seeks an Accounting & Finance Manager (Hands-on) to lead financial operations, systems, billing, accounts receivable, cash flow forecasting, and trust accounting compliance. The role is hands-on and focused on accurate, timely financial records for informed decisions.

You will drive budgeting, forecasting, payroll oversight, and strategic planning while coordinating with leadership and external providers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services firm.
• Strong understanding of accounting, budgeting, forecasting, A/R, A/P, payroll, and month-end close.
• Experience with trust/IOLTA accounting and reconciliations.
• Experience with billing systems, client payment plans, collections, and accounts receivable management.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel, and financial reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Financial Operations Management: run daily operations with staff and providers.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and budgeting/forecasting.
• Billing, collections, and accounts receivable management.
• Trust accounting and compliance; maintain internal controls.
• Financial analysis to support leadership decisions and strategic planning.
