Qualifications

• PhD or MS in Plant or Animal Breeding, Quantitative or Statistical Genetics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of advanced breeding technologies, analytics and information technologies, genomics, and/or quantitative genetics.
• Strong ability to collaborate and build cross-functional partnerships to solve complex business and technical problems across regions and functions.
• Demonstrated ability to embrace and role-model VACC leadership attributes, aligned with Bayer's Values, Ambition, Collaboration, and Creativity expectations, within the Capability Center and with peers and colleagues across Bayer Crop Science.

Responsibilities

• Define the vision and multi-year strategy for research acceleration across the early breeding pipeline.
• Set standards for hypothesis-driven design and evidence.
• Shape enabling-technology agenda across accelerated breeding and digital workflows.
• Lead adoption strategies and change management to embed new practices.
• Own impact metrics for acceleration, cycle time, genetic gain, and cost.
• Provide technical and product knowledge to the Capability Center.
• Lead and contribute to Global Breeding strategies and the Long-Range Plan.
• Engage with universities to attract and develop talent.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align research acceleration with downstream decisions.
• Ensure HS&E, Compliance, DEI, and Human Rights are prioritized.
