Job summary

Bayer seeks an experienced Research and Impact Acceleration lead to define and drive the multi-year strategy for accelerating breeding programs. The role focuses on hypothesis-driven design, data-driven decisions, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver faster learning and competitive advantage across crops and regions.

You will shape technology agendas in genomics, phenotyping, analytics, and digital workflows, while guiding adoption and change management across the Capability Center.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS in Plant or Animal Breeding, Quantitative or Statistical Genetics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of advanced breeding technologies, analytics, genomics, or quantitative genetics.
• Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally to solve complex problems.
• Demonstrated leadership attributes aligned with Bayer values.

Responsibilities

• Define the vision and multi-year strategy for research acceleration across the breeding pipeline.
• Set standards for hypothesis-driven design and decision-ready evidence.
• Shape the enabling-technology agenda across accelerated breeding, genomics, phenotyping, and analytics.
• Lead the adoption strategy to embed new practices across crops and regions at scale.
• Own the impact metrics and report on cycle time, genetic gain, and costs.
• Provide technical and strategic input to the Capability Center and global focus areas.
• Engage with universities to guide talent development and partnerships.
• Contribute to Global Breeding strategies and the Long-Range Plan.
