Job summary

Bayer is seeking a Research and Impact Acceleration Lead to define and drive a multi-year plan for accelerating research and impact across the early breeding pipeline. You will partner with genomics, phenotyping, analytics, and automation teams to turn rapid learning into faster, higher-quality product delivery worldwide.

The role requires leading adoption strategies, coordinating with Capability Center leadership, and aligning with global precision breeding and R&D priorities.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS in Plant/Animal Breeding, Quantitative/Statistical Genetics, Data Science or related field.
• Strong knowledge of advanced breeding tech, analytics, genomics and/or quantitative genetics with proven innovation in pipelines.
• Ability to collaborate across regions and functions to solve complex problems.
• Demonstrated leadership aligned with Bayer values in Capability Center contexts.

Responsibilities

• Define the vision and multi-year strategy for research acceleration across the early breeding pipeline.
• Set standards for hypothesis-driven design and evidence to enable rapid iteration.
• Shape enabling-technology agenda across accelerated breeding, genomics, phenotyping and analytics.
• Lead adoption strategies and change management to embed new practices across crops and regions.
• Own the impact narrative and metrics for cycle time, genetic gain, cost and adoption.
• Provide technical and product knowledge to the Capability Center and related focus areas.
• Contribute to Global Breeding strategies and the Long-Range Plan.
• Engage with universities to attract talent and strengthen partnerships.
• Serve in L3 leadership units to connect research acceleration with product/supply decisions.
• Ensure HS&E, Compliance, DEI, and Human Rights are integrated in the Capability Hub.
