Job summary

Magi-K is hiring a German-English over-the-phone interpreter to support clients remotely. The role requires native German and strong English (B2/C1) with alignment to healthcare and legal terminology.

You will provide clear interpretation over the phone, conveying speakers' meaning, tone, and intent, while following ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality. This is a freelance remote opportunity with flexible hours and USD payments.

Qualifications

• Native German speaker with professional proficiency in English (B2/C1).
• Experience in consecutive or simultaneous interpretation is a plus.
• Familiarity with healthcare or legal terminology is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide over-the-phone interpretation between German and English.

Your job as an Over-the-Phone interpreter involves providing clear and accurate interpretation between languages, assisting non-English speakers in various activities.

Required qualifications (Must have):

• Native in GERMAN - Level English: B2/C1 level
• We consider as a plus: Experience in the interpretation and good knowledge of medical / legal terminology
• Computer: Windows 10 or newer, with Pentium, or I3 processor. Minimum: Core 2 Duo 2.1 GHz / Recommended: i5 / i7 2.4 GHz and above.. It should have a 4 GB RAM Minimum (8GB recommended).
• Stable and fast internet connection (Wi-Fi is not allowed). Internet speed of 4Mbps Download/Upload.
• A noise canceling wired USB Headsets
• Willingness to learn and grow both professionally and personally.

Your responsibilities:

• Providing over the phone interpretation services.
• Imparting thought, purpose, spirit, emotions, and tone of speakers from source language into target language.
• Complying with applicable ethics and standards
• Be aware of the specific vocabulary of the industry the interpreter works with (healthcare and medical one, specifically).
