Job summary

Magi-K is hiring Finnish-English over-the-phone interpreters on a freelance contract. Your role is to provide clear and accurate interpretation between Finnish and English, assisting non-English speakers in a variety of activities over the phone.

This is a 100% remote position with immediate onboarding, a flexible schedule, and monthly payments in USD. Candidates must be native Finnish speakers with English at B2/C1, experience in interpretation, and familiarity with medical or legal

Qualifications

• Native Finnish speaker with English at B2/C1 level.
• Experience in interpretation is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical or legal terminology is a plus.
• Good computer and headset setup is required.

Responsibilities

Your role

Your job as an Over-the-Phone interpreter involves providing clear and accurate interpretation between languages, assisting non-English speakers in various activities.

Required qualifications (Must have)

• Native in Finnish - Level English: B2/C1 level
• We consider as a plus: Experience in the interpretation and good knowledge of medical / legal terminology
• Computer: Windows 10 or newer, with Pentium, or I3 processor. Minimum: Core 2 Duo 2.1 GHz / Recommended: i5 / i7 2.4 GHz and above. It should have a 4 GB RAM Minimum (8GB recommended).
• Stable and fast internet connection (Wi-Fi is not allowed). Internet speed of 5Mbps Download/Upload.
• A noise canceling wired USB Headsets
• Willingness to learn and grow both professionally and personally.

Your responsibilities

• Providing over the phone interpretation services.
• Imparting thought, purpose, spirit, emotions, and tone of speakers from source language into target language. (Finnish-English language pair).
• Complying with applicable ethics and standards.
• Be aware of the specific vocabulary of the industry the interpreter works with (healthcare and medical one, specifically).
