Job summary

Atomic Hr is seeking a Technical SEO Lead to own technical SEO across a portfolio of higher education client accounts in a fully remote role. You will run audits, write dev-ready specs, and implement WordPress-related fixes while shaping Claude-based AI workflows that streamline audits, QA, and reporting.

The role emphasizes building scalable systems, prioritizing issues by impact, and collaborating with an SEO Lead and Executive Director of SEO.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SEO with at least 3 in technical SEO
• Proven ability to uncover high-impact issues and fix them
• Hands-on experience with GSC, GA4, Screaming Frog, and Ahrefs or Semrush
• Strong WordPress knowledge to spec fixes
• Experience building Claude-based AI workflows
• Excellent written communication; can write developer specs
• Ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously
• Experience in higher education or enrollment marketing (bonus)

Responsibilities

• Lead technical SEO across client accounts
• Run technical audits covering crawlability, indexation, site architecture, internal linking, Core Web Vitals, structured data, redirects, and broken links
• Prioritize issues by impact and effort, and defend those calls
• Write dev-ready specs for web developers and client teams, then follow through until fixes are released and verified
• Handle light WordPress implementation: titles, meta descriptions, plugin-level redirects, and schema via Yoast or Rank Math
• Monitor Google Search Console and GA4 to catch drops, errors, and indexing problems
• Own technical readiness for AI search (AEO/GEO): crawler access, structured data, entity optimization
• Build the systems that scale the SEO service
• Design and build Claude-based tools, agents, and workflows for technical audits, issue prioritization, reporting, and QA
• Build content production systems that convert briefs, client rules, and optimization targets into near-publish-ready drafts
• Translate team standards into reusable systems
• Connect Search Console, GA4, crawl exports, and Ahrefs/Semrush into workflows
• Document each system, train the team on it, and measure time saved
• Support the team and client success
• Act as the team's go-to resource on technical questions
• Join client calls when a deep technical topic needs expert explanation
• Evaluate emerging search technologies and recommend new tools, processes, and workflows
