Job summary

Client, a US-based higher education marketing agency, seeks a Technical SEO Lead to own technical SEO across a portfolio of partner accounts. This fully remote role focuses on improving visibility in traditional search, answer engines, and AI-driven search, while building Claude-based tools to automate audits and reporting.

You'll write dev-ready specs, guide WordPress tweaks, monitor GSC/GA4, and shape scalable systems that scale the service.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SEO, with at least 3 focused on technical SEO.
• Track record of uncovering high-impact issues and getting them fixed.
• Hands-on experience with Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, and Ahrefs or Semrush.
• Strong WordPress knowledge to spec fixes precisely.
• Advanced experience with Claude, building agents and AI-assisted workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical SEO across client accounts.
• Run audits on crawlability, indexation, site structure, internal links, Core Web Vitals, redirects, and broken links.
• Prioritize issues by impact and defend decisions.
• Write dev-ready specs and follow through until fixes are live.
• Handle light WordPress changes: titles, meta descriptions, redirects, schema.
• Monitor GSC and GA4 to catch drops and indexing problems.
• Prepare AI-ready readiness for AI search (AEO/GEO) and structured data.
• Build scalable SEO systems and Claude-based tools.
• Translate team standards into reusable systems for the team.
• Connect GSC, GA4, crawl exports, and Ahrefs/Semrush into workflows.
• Document systems and train the team; measure time saved.
• Support the team and client success; join client calls for deep technical topics.
• Evaluate emerging search technologies and recommend new tools.
