We are seeking a visionary and collaborative Academic Director to lead the Bachelor in Entrepreneurship program and provide academic oversight for our Venture Studio at the Dubai campus, launching in Fall 2026. This part‑time leadership role is open to candidates with strong academic and entrepreneurial credentials, who are passionate about curriculum innovation, student venture‑building, and educating the market about a distinctive new program offering. As Academic Director, you will shape the academic direction of the program, steward the Venture Studio as its experiential backbone, and ensure an outstanding learning experience that equips students to launch and grow ventures in a dynamic global economy.

Job Summary

The Academic Director provides academic leadership for the Bachelor in Entrepreneurship program and Venture Studio, ensuring market success, high‑quality teaching, and a constructive faculty culture. The Academic Director reports to the Campus Dean and works closely with the Program Management and other academic and professional services teams.

Key Responsibilities
Program Promotion
  • Support marketing, recruitment, and sales activities through academic representation at events (open days, webinars, school visits, fairs, demo days).
  • Work closely with Marketing, Recruitment, and Careers teams to articulate the value proposition of the Bachelor in Entrepreneurship and Venture Studio (key messages, student personas, FAQs).
  • Contribute to thought leadership and content (blogs, webinars, panels, podcasts, short videos) that position the Bachelor in Entrepreneurship and Venture Studio in the market.
  • Showcase student and Venture Studio outcomes by highlighting projects, competitions, awards, and alumni success stories in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
  • Ensure that academic messaging about the program and Venture Studio is consistent, accurate, and aligned across channels (website, brochures, presentations, social media).
Curriculum Leadership
  • Coordinate syllabi, assessments, and learning outcomes across the program to ensure curriculum coherence, relevance, and appropriate progression.
  • Regularly review and update course content to reflect current entrepreneurial practice and global trends.
  • Ensure integration between classroom learning and the Venture Studio experience.
Venture Studio Leadership
  • Design and oversee the Venture Studio as the program’s core applied entrepreneurship platform.
  • Define and manage processes for idea selection, team formation, milestones, and evaluation of student ventures.
  • Coordinate mentors, coaches, and external experts involved in the Venture Studio.
  • Plan and design support processes for different stages of start‑up development from nascent stages to scaling up.
  • Ensure the Venture Studio is tightly aligned with program learning outcomes and assessment where appropriate.
  • Track and report on Venture Studio outcomes (projects launched, funding, competitions, ecosystem engagement).
Teaching Excellence
  • Champion pedagogical innovation, including experiential and project‑based learning.
  • Mentor faculty through teaching observations, feedback, and sharing of best practice.
  • Promote alignment between classroom activities, Venture Studio work, and program learning outcomes.
Student Experience
  • Monitor student progression, performance, and retention within the program.
  • Address academic issues in collaboration with the Program Director and Registrar.
  • Review and act on feedback from student surveys, academic boards, and advisory groups to enhance engagement and outcomes.
  • Ensure that the Venture Studio provides a supportive, inclusive environment where students can experiment, learn from failure, and build confidence.
Faculty Development & Staffing
  • Support faculty hiring, assignment, and onboarding to ensure alignment with program goals and institutional values.
  • Encourage a collegial, student‑centred faculty culture focused on quality, feedback, and innovation.
  • Identify and engage adjuncts, practitioners, and mentors who can contribute to entrepreneurship teaching and the Venture Studio.
External Engagement
  • Build and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, incubators, accelerators, investors, and ecosystem partners.
  • Explore public and private funding opportunities to support the Venture Studio activities and venture development.
  • Leverage these relationships to support the Venture Studio through mentorship, live projects, pitch events, and potential funding opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development of advisory boards or ecosystem partnerships for the program.
Accreditation Readiness
  • Maintain accurate documentation of curriculum, assessment, assurance of learning, and Venture Studio processes.
  • Contribute to periodic internal and external reviews (e.g., accreditation visits, program evaluations).
Key Skills
  • Academic Leadership: Ability to influence, coordinate, and inspire faculty and mentors without formal line authority.
  • Curriculum & Experience Design: Experience in developing and aligning entrepreneurship‑focused content, assessments, and experiential components (incubators, accelerators, venture studios).
  • Venture‑Building Expertise: Understanding of startup development processes (idea validation, MVPs, funding, go‑to‑market) and how to translate these into structured learning experiences.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal, cross‑cultural, and stakeholder management skills; comfortable working across departments and with external partners.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Comfort with experimentation, iteration, and ambiguity; role‑modelling a proactive, opportunity‑oriented mindset for students.
Qualifications

  • Proven record of teaching excellence in entrepreneurship or related fields at higher education level.
  • Experience in academic leadership (course coordination, program leadership, assurance of learning, or accreditation‑related roles).
  • Demonstrated involvement in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, such as founding or co‑founding a startup, mentoring early‑stage ventures, or leading/participating in incubators, accelerators, or venture studios.
Terms of Appointment
  • Time Commitment: Part‑time, approximately one day per week.
  • Compensation: Stipend‑based compensation.
  • Term: 2 years, renewable based on performance and institutional needs.
