Transportation Planner
Job summary
A multinational engineering firm based in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Transportation Planner to conduct transportation planning studies, analyze road segments, and understand highway design principles. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's in Civil or Transportation Engineering and have over 5 years of experience in transportation planning. Strong communication skills and expertise in traffic analysis tools like SYNCHRO and VISSIM are essential for this role.

Job Title: Transportation Planner
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
- Conduct transportation planning studies such as transportation master plans, corridor studies, etc.
- Conduct associated operational analysis including intersection analysis and analysis of road segments and interchanges using standard techniques and packages (eg SYNCHRO, VISSIM, HCS); development and analysis of mitigation measures, and travel demand modeling
- Understanding of highway design principles as they relate to transportation planning and engineering
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering.
- Minimum 5+ years experience in transportation planning and engineering including preparation of traffic studies for small and large developments;
- Very good communication skills as reflected in report writing and presentations
- Expertise in two or more of: Travel demand modeling (e.g. using CUBE), operational traffic analysis (using SYNCHRO, HCS, Sidra, etc.); micro-simulation using VISSIM or Aimsun.
- Experience in public transportation planning, non-motorized transportation, and parking management
- MS in transportation planning/traffic engineering.
- Work experience from ITC Abu Dhabi is desirable.
