• Plan, prepare, and deliver English lessons (reading, writing, speaking, listening) that are engaging, relevant, and aligned with the school’s curriculum (e.g. British, IB, American).
• Use differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all students, including those learning English as an additional language.
• Assess student progress regularly (formative & summative assessments), provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of achievement.
• Develop and review schemes of work, lesson plans, and resources; ensure they meet curriculum standards.
• Create a positive, safe, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
• Support students’ development of critical thinking, language analysis, and literary appreciation (if covering literature).
• Communicate with parents / guardians about student progress, behavior, and areas for improvement.
• Participate in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the English department.
• Respect and integrate local culture, values and traditions into teaching practices where appropriate.
