Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly and professionally upon arrival at the restaurant.
- Identify reservations, walk‑in requirements, VIP status, and special seating preferences.
- Confirm booking details and communicate table availability accurately.
- Manage the waiting list and provide realistic updates regarding expected seating times.
- Escort guests to their assigned tables with confidence and courtesy.
- Introduce relevant restaurant facilities, concepts, or service information when appropriate.
- Coordinate seating arrangements with restaurant managers and service teams.
- Monitor table availability and guest flow throughout each service period.
- Maintain accurate reservation, waiting list, and seating information.
- Engage guests in natural conversation while remaining attentive to their individual needs.
- Recognize repeat visitors and support personalized service through available guest preferences.
- Provide additional assistance to families, elderly guests, VIP visitors, and guests with special requirements.
- Respond to general questions regarding menus, dining concepts, operating hours, and resort facilities.
- Communicate delays or operational changes tactfully and professionally.
- Handle straightforward guest concerns and refer complex matters to the appropriate manager.
- Coordinate closely with servers, restaurant supervisors, managers, and other front‑of‑house colleagues.
- Support smooth service during busy periods, special events, and high‑profile dining occasions.
- Maintain a neat, organized, and welcoming reception area.
- Ensure menus, reservation materials, and guest‑facing items are prepared before service.
- Follow restaurant grooming, presentation, hygiene, and service standards.
- Protect guest privacy and handle reservation information discreetly.
- Thank departing guests sincerely and invite them to return.
- Participate in internal and external training programs.
- Develop detailed knowledge of food, beverages, restaurant concepts, and luxury service practices.
- Complete other reasonable guest‑service duties assigned by restaurant management.
Ideal Profile
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a luxury hotel, fine‑dining restaurant, or high‑end hospitality venue.
- International experience in a comparable hostess or guest‑facing position is preferred.
- Excellent spoken communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional appearance with consistently high grooming standards.
- Confident engaging with VIP guests and international visitors.
- Able to maintain a friendly and composed manner during busy service periods.
- Strong organisational skills for managing reservations, waiting lists, and table flow.
- Natural ability to build rapport and create positive guest impressions.
- Team‑oriented approach with the ability to coordinate effectively across front‑of‑house operations.
- Good judgment when handling delays, guest concerns, or sensitive situations.
- Additional language capability is advantageous.
- Passion for luxury dining, food and beverage service, and guest experience.
- Willing to attend training and continuously improve service knowledge.
- Flexible to work rotating shifts, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
