Our client a leading semi‑government hospital is currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Staff Nurse to join their Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide comprehensive age‑appropriate nursing care for critically ill pediatric patients including assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing interventions.
- Monitoring and Assessment: Continuously monitor vital signs, lab results and clinical condition of patients in the PICU. Detect and respond to changes in patient conditions.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with pediatric intensivists, respiratory therapists, social workers and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care and optimize patient outcomes.
- Family Support: Provide emotional support and education to families of pediatric patients. Serve as a liaison between medical staff and families explaining medical procedures and ensuring families are informed and involved in care decisions.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, progress and any changes in condition in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Patient Safety: Adhere to infection control protocols, patient safety guidelines and hospital procedures. Identify and report any potential safety hazards.
- Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in pediatric nursing care. Participate in continuing education and clinical training and contribute to the development of unit protocols.
- Quality Improvement: Actively engage in quality improvement initiatives and participate in case reviews, audits and other activities aimed at enhancing care standards in the PICU.
Requirements
- A Bachelors Degree in Nursing from an accredited institute/college/university is required.
- At least 2 years of clinical nursing experience in a pediatric hospital or similar healthcare setting.
- Previous experience in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
- Valid and current professional Nursing license from country of origin.
- Ability to qualify for DHA nursing licensure requirements.
- Preferably someone with DHA license/eligibility.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Willing to work 48 hours per week.
- Willing to be based in Dubai, UAE.
