A leading engineering firm in the UAE seeks a Senior Welding Engineer who will enhance the Welding discipline by solving complex problems and acting as a resource for less experienced colleagues. The role requires a Master's degree in Welding, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, and over 5 years of practical experience in Welding Engineering. Responsibilities include developing welding execution plans, mentoring engineers, and coordinating technical selections for welding consumables, all while ensuring adherence to project schedules.
The Senior Welding Engineer uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve the Welding discipline within McDermott. They will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and share their conceptual and practical expertise related to the Welding discipline. The Senior Welding Engineer solves complex problems and uses discipline‑specific knowledge to improve their products or services. The Senior Welding Engineer impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities with the Welding team and other related teams and ensures they work within the appropriate guidelines and policies.
Liaise with: Operations Manager (Fabrication / Marine), Discipline Managers, PMT, Customers, Operations /Field Engineers, QC/NDT Engineers, Client representatives, Certifying Authorities, Other Technical Agencies (e.g., TWI, DNVGL)
