Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Dubai is seeking a highly experienced Senior Piping Material Engineer to join their team for onshore oil and gas projects. The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of experience in piping materials engineering, with at least 8 years in the engineering phase. Expertise in international standards and ADNOC projects will be a strong advantage. About the job SENIOR PIPING MATERIAL ENGINEER

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Piping Material Engineer to join our engineering team for onshore oil and gas projects in Abu Dhabi. The role requires strong expertise in piping materials engineering during the FEED and Detailed Engineering phases, ensuring compliance with international codes, standards, and client specifications. Experience with ADNOC projects will be considered a strong advantage.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and review piping material specifications, datasheets, and material selection reports in line with project requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain Piping Material Specifications (PMS), Valve Material Specifications (VMS), and Line Class Index (LCI).
  • Review and approve vendor documents related to piping materials, valves, gaskets, flanges, and fittings.
  • Perform material selection studies considering process, temperature, pressure, corrosion, and project conditions.
  • Ensure all piping material engineering deliverables comply with ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, and ADNOC standards.
  • Provide technical support during procurement activities including technical bid evaluations (TBE), vendor qualification, and vendor document review.
  • Interface with process, piping, mechanical, and procurement teams to resolve material-related issues.
  • Support the development of Material Requisition (MRs), Bill of Materials (BOMs), and Material Take-Offs (MTOs).
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and model reviews during the engineering phase.
  • Provide guidance to junior engineers and ensure adherence to project quality and schedule requirements.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 12+ years of experience in piping materials engineering, with at least 8 years in the engineering phase (FEED & Detailed Engineering) of onshore oil and gas projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, API, ASTM, ISO, and other relevant international codes and standards.
  • Proven track record in preparing PMS, VMS, and piping class specifications.
  • Experience in vendor coordination, procurement support, and documentation review.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interface with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • ADNOC project experience is a strong plus.
