Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Geotechnical investigation.
  • Geotechnical engineering analyses such as slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, and seismic;
  • Geotechnical and site characterization;
  • Review factual design reports, borehole logs and laboratory testing
  • Preparation of geotechnical field investigation specifications and geotechnical interpretive reports
  • Prepare foundation and pile design as well as ground improvement recommendations
  • Developing engineering solutions to challenging structural and geotechnical problems and site conditions
  • Coordination and support with marine and structural team on projects
  • Oversee waterfront structure and marine infrastructure projects
  • Design and engineering for a variety of areas such as harbors, marinas, vessel mooring and berthing structures, bulkheads and seawalls, breakwaters and shore protection structures, shoreline stabilization and sediment management.
  • Development and management of instrumentation monitoring systems;
  • Small project/task management and proposal preparation support;
  • Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications; and
  • Attend meetings with clients and regulatory authorities.
Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, coastal, structural or geotechnical engineering. (required)
  • Advanced degree in civil, coastal, structural or geotechnical engineering. (preferred)
  • Professional engineer licensure (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • At least 7 years (8+ preferred) of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Strong oral and technical writing skills. (required)
  • Familiarity with international geotechnical design standards including Eurocode and British Standards. (preferred)
  • Familiarity and experience on coastal and waterfront projects. (preferred)
  • Experience with engineering software such as AUTOCAD, Slope/W, SAP2000, ALLPILE, STAAD Pro, MATLab, SWAN, SBEACH, MIKE21, and Plaxis. (2D/3D) (preferred)
