Job summary

The successful candidate will develop designs for roads and highways, conduct site inspections, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Roads Engineer to join our award-winning team based in Abu Dhabi.

This critical role will work as part of the Infrastructure team, developing roads and highways designs in the different project design stages.

We envisage success in this role to include:

  • Develop detailed SOW documents for road construction and maintenance projects, ensuring clarity on technical requirements, timelines, and compliance standards.
  • Conduct site inspections during construction and maintenance phases to verify adherence to design specifications, safety standards, and quality benchmarks.
  • Oversee and coordinate contractors’ activities, monitor progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure timely delivery within budget and contractual obligations.
  • Ensure all works comply with local regulations and project specifications; prepare progress reports and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • To monitor and report cash flow forecasts timely and accurately.
  • Toanalyze and report variances in planned versus actual costs in each monthly report and support the team in identifying resultant recovery actions for the following month.
  • Check & verify Contractor’s Payment Applications / Invoices and supports their approval process providing requested inputs and clarifications.
  • Assist to develop and report Cash Plan and Accrual Status
  • Assist in providing Cost related information to the Budget Tracker and other reports.
  • Develop annual budget plan for FM department and to ensure alignment with business needs.
Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that you will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. We welcome all levels of experience, with more than 5 years of experience in a similar position. Having a membership of a professional institution is desirable.

Furthermore, you should demonstrate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Written and Spoken English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic will be advantageous.
  • 5 years’ minimum experience in road/highway infrastructure engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of design standards, inspection protocols, and contract administration.
